Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!

Personal Experience: For those of you who have not heard of glamping yet, it is basically upscale camping or a way for those on opposite ends to meet in the middle.  Think of it as a merging of roughing it in the woods and a fancy hotel.  Trust me, it is awesome.

We decided to check out Alter Experience's glamping retreat that is stationed on the Fort Cross property while we were out visiting Julian.  This is truly the icing on the apple pie! I am already SO in love with Julian.  The crisp, fresh air, mountain lifestyle and thick trees is enough to make me plot on how to move out there one day.  Getting to have such unique experiences such as this are small introductions to what living out here may feel like.

We glamped in October when the autumn chill (and so much glorious fog) had officially arrived.  The thin lining of the tent combined with the cushy blankets and soft bed was so amazing! You get all the outdoorsy noises and freshness associated with camping while sprawled out in hotel-quality accommodations. One of the best parts is you don't have to set anything up or take anything down the next morning!  Just make sure you clean up after yourself.

There is one queen-size bed, one twin futon and a ton of pillows!

There is a second tent on site with all cooking amenities set up for you.  There is also a sink and picnic table which is not shown in the photographs.

I'd say the real magic happens at night!

I can't wait to do more glamping now!
