About Downtown Julian
For those looking to get the flavor of what the Old West and mining days of San Diego may have looked like, Julian is definitely the town for you! This is an authentic mining town that still has many of the old, historical features in tact. Even if you don’t leave downtown Julian, there is plenty to do and see on this strip.
Absolutely make sure you grab a slice of apple pie while you’re here as that is what Julian is known for! My personal favorite spot to grab a slice is Julian Apple Pie Co. I always get their Dutch apple pie with homemade whip cream. It is soooo good!

The strip is lined with adorable shops, cafes and unique attractions making it the perfect day trip for the entire family! If you happen to visit after it has snowed (first of all possibly re-consider) make sure you know the proper etiquette when coming out here. This small town get hoards of people out here every time it snows which dramatically increases the amount of litter and trespassing. Don’t be one of those people!
