Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!

Bates Nut Farm is a 5 generation family farm located in Valley Center. Gilbert and Beatrice Bates originally purchased the walnut farm in 1921 where they raised 5 boys along with geese, ducks, goats, horses, rabbits and sheep.
Today the property is open to the public where you can enjoy the farm animals, a sunflower maze, pumpkin patch and wonderful shop filled with all sorts of homemade goodies such as fudge, hot sauce, teas, nuts and so much more! This is also a great spot for photoshoots, weddings and all other events.
I love stopping by here on my way to Valley Center, Pala or Palomar Mountain and grabbing some local, homemade goodies from their shop and saying hello to the animals. Always such a lovely time!
