Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!

Hike: 1 mile loop   Level: Easy
Dog-Friendly: Yes   Kid-Friendly: Yes
The Giant Grove trail is a short yet enjoyable 1-mile loop located in Scripps Ranch. Because it is completely shaded by eucalyptus trees, even in the summer it will feel cooler than most other hiking trails. We hiked after a rainfall and the smell of eucalyptus was in the air. It was so nice. It appears the trail is lined with trees that burned down in the wildfire that swept through this town years back and the offspring are the trees we now see in the forest.
Don't expect a crazy adventure, but it's very kid and dog-friendly. You may find a secret out here if you look really hard. 😉

You can park on the street (Avenida Magnifica) right outside the entrance
There’s at least one shell of a hut in this area but it’s well hidden. Check out the storm drainage tunnels here as well, there’s several and they’re fun/creepy to walk through.
