Personal Experience
This area is one of my favorite places in San Diego county to visit. The drive through Valley Center is breathtakingly beautiful and once you arrive, you are welcomed with a lavender field (which is open for public visiting), fruit trees, farm animals and extremely friendly owners. They recently opened two deli’s called the Yellow Deli. One is in Vista and the other is right at the entrance to their land. All of the food is grown by them, and boy is it fresh and delicious!
While you’re in the area, make sure to visit the Mission San Antonio de Pala nearby!
The people here are said to be part of a cult and part of what I like to do is humanize them a little. Some of the other rumored cults in San Diego are at Unarius in El Cajon, Questhaven Retreat and Harmony Grove Spiritualist Center in Escondido and Lemurian Fellowship in Ramona. I get very peaceful vibes when I visit Morning Star Ranch and their deli’s. I know the are rumors about other branches of their and child beatings but I have not heard any from the one we have here in Valley Center.

Yes, both Morning Star and Yellow Deli are either owned or run by Twelve Tribes, although I don’t know that they are a cult, or why previous poster has such an issue with them. Morning Star and Yellow Deli, along with the really nice people I’ve met there, are an absolute delight, and a beautiful way to spend a day. Put this on your list of places to go if you have not been – or to go back if you have already.

Best place ever. You have to visit before you believe all the lies about them online. Most of the stuff you find is untrue and manipulated.

The best place i have ever been. Wish people would grow up and get a hobby if they are so bored they feel the need to spread rumors. Anyways. The people who live there are peaceful and kind. Wish everybody were like that. I was fortunate to have been allowed to live with them for a few years.
