Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!

The Lodge at Torrey Pines is one of San Diego’s most iconic resorts. This AAA Five Diamond resort is famous for its golf course where many notable golfers have played. Tiger Woods won the 2008 U.S. Open for instance.
The 170-room luxury hotel has two restaurants and lounges, a full spa and fitness center, tons of event and meeting spaces, plus a big outdoor area with a pool, hot tub, cabanas, and food and drinks by the water.
The hotel doubles as an art gallery with exquisite paintings covering the walls throughout the property, including Tiffany lamps in every room!
The unbeatable ocean views and rare Torrey Pines that grow on the property make this feel more like the coast of Central California. Add the rustic wooden structures throughout the property and stone fireplaces and it really feels like you’re in Monterey.
The Lodge is connected to the Torrey Pines State Reserve making it very easy to have a great hiking adventure. They also have so many beautiful, hidden nooks around the property so make sure to wander around!

In 2000, they decided to completely revamp it, so they closed the hotel, tore most of it down, and built it all over again.
It reopened in early 2002. Since reopening, the hotel has earned and kept the AAA Five Diamond rating every year. It’s still owned and run by the San Diego-based, family-owned Evans Hotels group.

Embracing the California spirit, its food and beverage offerings focus on locally-sourced ingredients and an impressive selection of regional wines and craft beers. Guests are welcome to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner while taking in the striking coastal views.
A.R. Valentien
Elegant and sophisticated, The Lodge’s signature restaurant, A.R. Valentien, showcases seasonal regional cuisine curated by Executive Chef Kelli Crosson. Guests can dine al fresco on the terrace, overlooking the pool and golf course.
The Grill at Torrey Pines
The Grill at Torrey Pines offers wood-fired specialties paired with local craft brews. Its inviting outdoor patio, complete with cozy fire pits, makes for the perfect spot to relax and savor nightly sunsets.

Relax in refined guest rooms featuring plush Egyptian cotton linens, quilted duvets, and inviting granite and marble bathrooms with oversized bathtubs. Warm Craftsman accents and rich hardwood furnishings add to the charm.

What vacation is complete without a spa treatment? The Spa at Torrey Pines combines luxurious treatments with the calming beauty of nature, each service crafted to reflect the spirit of California’s coast.
Utilizing the latest innovations in wellness, the spa features premium skincare brands, natural botanical and marine-based products, and personalized attention from skilled therapists. Guests can unwind in serene surroundings, explore the current spa menu, and discover nourishing experiences like the CBD-infused ANTARA Organics line, crafted to balance and revitalize both skin and spirit.

Dry sauna
For an even more indulgent escape, guests can explore seasonal packages and limited-time specials available at The Spa at Torrey Pines. Highlights include the Essential Manicure & Ultimate Pedicure, the relaxing Summer Solstice massage and facial package, and a trio of summer treatment spotlights: the Resurfacing Body Wrap, Nourishing Stem Cell Wrap, and Detoxifying Marine Wrap — each thoughtfully designed to rejuvenate and restore from head to toe.
I tried their Citrus Scrub with Vichy Shower which is a more common treatment in European spas. It was quite the experience!
Beyond all the wonderful amenities mentioned above, there is SO much to explore on the property! Make sure to spend time at their pool which has the stunning back-drop of the ocean and golf course.
There is a pool-side bar where you can order food and drinks to enjoy while you relax. They even have beautiful plastic wine glasses to keep things safe while still being classy.
They often have live music playing at the poolside in the evening so you can enjoy the sunset in the most perfect way.
There are many secluded areas as well where you will often have the entire spot to yourself. We found this area I’m calling the Zen Den (not sure what it’s actually called). It was filled with native plants and even a small slot canyon meant to mimic the natural sandstone bluffs found in the area!
Take your time to really explore!
