We stayed in their Bayfront Suite while visiting which I highly recommend to anyone interested in booking a stay!  From our front door we could see (and loudly hear) the lobby’s waterfall.  I would open the door often just to hear the sound of the soothing water.

From the back-door we were right along Mission Bay.  During the evening’s luau we literally got to watch and appreciate the show right from our hotel room!

The bathroom was so luxurious as well and I loved the Polynesian artwork in the room!

Restaurants

The Catamaran Resort has two restaurants on property: Oceana Coastal Kitchen and Moray’s Outdoor Lounge.  Although they sit right next to each other, they both have their own unique features and different menus.  Visiting both is a must!

Oceana Coastal Kitchen

Oceana Coastal Kitchen is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a patio that offers perfect beachside views. I had their lox and bagel for breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice and a side of bacon.  This was such a great way to start the day!

Moray’s Outdoor Lounge

Moray’s Outdoor Lounge is absolutely exquisite, especially at night!  Soak up the island vibes with beach-front dining and fire-lit tiki torches as you dine on your delicious meal.

We came here for their Sunday Champagne Brunch and this was hands down one of the best brunches I’ve ever had!! They had oysters, crab legs, charcuterie boards, a variety of salads, vegetables, sushi, fruit and so much more!

On top of the buffet you get to order a plate off their menu as well.  We both ordered the prime rib!

We also had dinner here and ordered several of their flatbreads and mocktails!

Spa

The spa at the Catamaran Resort and Spa offers a serene retreat with stunning ocean views, combining relaxation with breathtaking natural beauty. Guests can indulge in a range of treatments, from rejuvenating massages to revitalizing facials, all within a tranquil tropical setting.

Definitely get here early to take advantage of all the amenities such as their relaxation waiting room with fruit0infused water and teas.  They have a steam room and dry sauna with iced towels for your face when you get out.

They even have Vitamin C-infused showers!  So seriously, take advantage of it alllll!  Pool

The pool is extremely family-friendly and even has a bar to order snacks and drinks from!

Another wonderful feature was their arcade which, of course, is fun for kids, but us adults had a blast too! I was so excited to see that they had the classic Simpsons game!  Best part is all of the games are FREE to guests staying on the property!

Personal Experience

I have visited the Catamaran Resort in the past for their luau and was blown away with how beautiful this property is.  Immediately when you enter the lobby you are greeted with a 20 foot waterfall complete with live orchids and other exotic plants growing out of it. It such a welcoming spectacle to see!

You don’t really know how spectacular this property is though until you FULLY immerse yourself by actually staying here.  We stayed here for 3 glorious days and it was so perfect.

The property is right alongside Mission Bay so you are literally getting an intimate beach-front experience.  The bay is much less crowded than any of the oceanfront beaches, but still so peaceful.

Take time to walk around the property.  Many great efforts have been put into to give this resort a true tropical feel and they really succeeded with doing so.  There are so many unique plants for plant enthusiasts!

I spotted both a Screw Pine and Bread Fruit tree, both bearing edible fruits (but must be cooked btw).

So many beautiful flowers to marvel over:

There are multiple ponds with koi fish, turtles and ducks calling this resort home:

There is also a Polynesian museum right next to the restaurants which I highly suggest checking out.  It’ll give you a better appreciation of the culture this resort is inspired by.  The art pieces were phenomenal!

There was also another aquarium in this area!

Make sure to say hello to the resident parrots which are in their cage everyday from 10am-3pm!

And grab a scavenger hunt paper from the lobby.  It makes walking around the property even more fun and forces you to keep a keen eye!

You absolutely should hang out on the beach in the evening.  Sitting in the sand while enjoying the stillness of the bay was so peaceful.  They have bonfire rentals available if that’s something you’re interested in!

The last morning we stayed here we were greeted with the most amazing sunrise!! I am SO glad I went outside for it.  What a way to start the day!
