Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!

About Double Peak Park

Double Peak Park is quite possibly the best panoramic view in San Diego. It is breath-taking! I can imagine you can capture killer sunsets here. I began doing one of the hikes but quickly realized it was not worth it because it was almost sunset and that is when the park closes. So if you want to hike AND experience the sunset, make it a day! Would be a lovely picnic spot.

While you’re in the area, make sure to visit Jack’s Pond Nature Center nearby!

You can hike from the bottom of the peak to the top but I have not done it yet. I will update this page once I do this trail! There is limited parking so if you plan to drive to the top for the sunset only I would suggest getting here early!

I live in nearby Vista and go here regularly to hike, watch the sunset or just sit and take in the views. My absolute favorite time to visit is during wintertime or early springtime when there is snow on nearby peaks (Palomar, San Jacinto, Julian). Also a great place to take out of town visitors. You can see all the way to Mexico on a clear day!
