Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!

For those of you who have not had the opportunity to explore Escondido’s back roads, Mia Marie Vineyards may be the perfect excuse to finally experience them!
In an area known as Highland Valley, the windy road leading you up to their winery feels like you’re somewhere in the back-country of France or Italy. It definitely doesn’t feel like San Diego!
Once you make it to their 105-acre estate, get ready to be greeted with stunning 280° views of the valley below. This is definitely an ideal spot to enjoy the sunset, but beautiful throughout the day as you will quickly see.
Mia Marie (named after the co-owner of the winery, Mia Redmond) was officially established in 2016 when Mia and her husband, John, planted 10 acres of vines on their newly-purchased property. Today they have 21 acres of vineyards planted.
The varietals they planted include Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Tempranillo, Merlot, Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Sauvignon Blanc. Due to the ideal climate in this area, the grapes thrive out here. Lucky for us because we get to enjoy delicious wines as a result!
Mia says that their wines truly encompass the flavors of the area as they are all produced from grapes on their property or vineyards nearby. Nothing is transported from other regions, so you really get to experience the flavors of San Diego!
Mia Marie Vineyards is also both kid and dog-friendly so grab the whole family and head on over!Â
