Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!

The Spruce Street Suspension Bridge is definitely a quick adventure that everyone must do at least once while in San Diego. With a 70 ft. drop, this may not be the best place to visit if you are afraid of heights though!
The bridge was designed in 1912 by Edwin Capps to provide pedestrian passage across a deep canyon, which isolated developing neighborhoods from the newly-built streetcar lines on Fourth and Fifth avenues. From Hillcrest, visiting the bridge is a scenic and comfortable stroll.Â
I’ve been going to this bridge since I was a child when my mom would take my brother and I. It is a sentimental area to me for this reason. This bridge is rather scary, especially if you’re afraid of heights. It is very high up and sways as you enter the middle.
Usually there are people trying to scare their friends by rocking the bridge so be ready for that. The view is beautiful and there is a fun canyon you can hike below! If you *really* explore down there you may find a little hut made out of sticks. Fun exploring!
You are very high up!
You can also hike below. I recommend going in springtime when everything is green and blooming. Here is where we entered from:
We found a cool little “hobbit house” down here. You never know what you’ll find!
