Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!

The Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum is an historical, outdoor museum showcasing hundreds of old gas and steam engines from the early 1900’s. This is a great day trip for families whom have a member that is interested in machinery.
Their exhibits include a Weavers Barn, Steam Engine Row, Grist Mill, Short Track Railroad, Gas Engine Row, Blacksmith & Wheelwright Shop, West Coast Watch & Clock Museum, Steam Traction Engines, Farmhouse, Zuest Family Spinners Cottage, Sawmill and Gas & Diesel Tractors.
You can easily spend many hours here. Just make sure to come on a cooler day as it is not hard to overheat out here in the summer!
If outdoor museums with old machinery are your thing, I recommend also visiting Pacific Southwest Railway Museum and Motor Transport Museum, located in Campo.
We took my 96 year old grandpa to check out all the old equipment. He loved it!
Lots of cool, abstract photography opportunities here:
They’ve got a cute shop here:

I use to go to high school right next door at Guajome Park Academy. They would make us go there for PE and run laps around this place. Sometimes they would throw concerts and have dance classes for us. Its a pretty cool place if your into old cars and old machines. The tool shed is a trip to look at.

This place is amazing. 100s of old machines, many/most kept in working (sometimes a bit rusty) condition. I’ve been there a number of times with my boys (5 and 7) and even did a Cub Scout outing there, which was a huge hit. Their “Tractor Days” are the best time to go because many of the machines are running and there’s a tractor parade. One of my top spots in SD (although I should note that my wife isn’t as captivated as I am).
