Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!

My mind goes wild with the possible legends Eagle Rock must have and how sacred it must be for tribes in the area. Stories that hopefully have been shared through generations.
I do know that this rock formation was created by wind and took thousands of years to look like what it does today. What the wind molded is utterly fascinating: an uncanny resemblance to an eagle. Even more special is that this rock lays direction atop the Pacific Crest Trail. A quick history lesson: the Pacific Crest Trail is a trail that spans from Mexico to Canada along the crest of the mountains in California, Oregon, and Washington and is 2,659 miles long.
We did this hike in late March which is most likely the ideal time to do any hike. The weather is cool and the wildflowers are beginning to show. Although I have not been out here in summer I can pretty much promise there will be no green grass nor flowers during that time of the year.
The hike starts off a little bland but becomes progressively more beautiful as you reach your destination. Where the Eagle Rock lays is absolutely stunning and looks like a scene out of a movie![/vc_column_text]
The hike begins next to the fire station. You will be hiking southeast. Make sure you close any gates that you enter during your hike. These are here to keep the cows in.
The stack of rocks on the left-hand side is Eagle Rock:We’ve arrived! Isn’t it amazing!
