Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!
Whenever I drive up to Julian I love walking around Main St. and check out all the cute shops. I always find something new every time. Crow & Lilac was one of those shops that really stood out to me when I stumbled upon it. The entire shop is curated with hand-crafted goods created 100% by local San Diegans. That is so impressive to me! Nothing better than supporting a shop that is helping to uplift the community!
The building in which Crow and Lilac sits on is actually part of an historic district dating back to the California Gold Rush! Julian was once an old mining town and every building downtown is part of that history.
A large chunk of what Crow and Lilac carries are natural beauty products created by the owners, Shannon and Jess. I’m a big supporter of using all-natural ingredients on our skin. Everything you put on your skin gets absorbed into your body.
Make sure that you’re using products you’re ok with getting into your blood stream! All natural also tends to be a far greater option for folks with sensitive skin as it doesn’t have a lot of synthetic ingredients that can be inflammatory.
They noted to me that they use minimal preservatives in their products, and the preservatives they do use are from materials such as coconut probiotics or fermented radish root. How neat!
Beyond beauty products, you can also purchase handmade items such as intricately woven baskets, ceramic mugs, paintings, cards, jewelry and so much more! Make sure to check in regularly because the products are always rotating!
It’s so important to support small businesses like this to help keep them around. So the next time you head up to Julian, make sure to pop in and check out their beautiful boutique!
