Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!
Personal Experience: This was the first tunnel that I had gone all the way through and man was it fun!! There were multiple chambers, each being quite different from the rest. Make sure to wear boots with thick rubber soles and NEVER explore a tunnel within 48 of rain. :

You should check out the tunnel in University City! It’s over a mile long. Very cool and has graffiti from high schoolers dating back to the 80’s. Runs right under the high school with labels at each man hole ladder saying what part of the high school you are at.

I did not try to use my cell phone down there so I don’t know. Yes, Bernie went alone before but that is highly not advised as it is not safe. They go for at least a mile.

The address takes you directly there. you will end up in a col de sac and will see an area that looks like it leads to a canyon. when you first get to that part keep left and you will see a circle opening. It starts off small so you have to crouch and then it gets bigger. You go down that for a long way and get connected to a big open area. You walk down that a long way as well and thats where you will see the chambers. My cousin and I had to run the opposite way once we got to the coolest part to explore with all the chambers because we heard a homeless man screaming, but no clear words. I definitely want to go back soon though. Caution: bring flashlights because you will need them, and your shoes will get extremely dirty.

This was fun. I had my bro n his wife, my sis, my oldest son and my hunny. If u strait u come out on other side. It was to long but it was. The time some people take with graffiti is crazy. The art work is nice. We ran into a homeless guy who has been there for years. He has explored so many tunnels. The water washed his stuff away about a week before so he said if we find any good shit is was his and he guna pocket check. He was funny. We gave him food and weed. And did find some of his stuff and brought it all back to him. A cologne almost new that he got for his birthday a day before the rain. So that was cool to give back. A friend told me about this one. I tried tunnel #1 as well its near a trolley station. Thats a good one to. Some kid homeless kid told us about tunnel #1. He stayed in it before. Im tryna find Hells Gate in El Cajon. The homeless man in tunnel #2 told us about it. Said its acray but he hasnt been there. Just heard scary stories. The homeless there are assholes and it has a hebrew writing, something about the Language of the Dead. Said it has like 7 levels he said. But didnt know the exact address.

I meant the guys from tunnel 3 told us about Hells Gate in El Cajon. If anyone knows about it, let me know! And I ment to say this one isnt that long. But its still fun. There are break off tunnels but if u wana kinda hunch over in some of them then u can find some more to go through. The guy is in the half dome looking tunnel. He told us where we were. What we were near. What to stay away from what to do if ur lights go off and stay safe. Be good to homeless they will be good to you!! Most of these homeless arent deranged. They are misplaced and misunderstood and very smart. Street wise and intellectually.
