Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!
Dog-Friendly: Yes Kid-Friendly: Yes Mile: 1/4 mile in either direction
Parking: The parking lot for the trail recently closed down, but there is still parking next door at Viewpoint Brewing Company. If you do park here, make sure to patronize their business by purchasing a meal and/or drink
The River path has trails that go in both directions of the parking lot, each being about a quarter mile hike. The trail heading east will lead you to a beautiful lookout of the San Dieguito lagoon. The trail heading east will lead you to a small watering hole with a bridge that connects to Del Mar Dog Beach.
Phase 1 and 2 of the River Path Del Mar were completed in 2015 and 2016 through a joint effort between the City of Del Mar, County of San Diego and Nature Conservancy. Over $450,000 was raised to help fund the project.
Phase 3 of the River Path will be approximately 1/2 mile long and will extend the path from the Grand Avenue Overlook to the Crest Canyon Trail.
Part of an old railroad. I haven't looked into the history of this yet:
